A sword

A sword is a long, edged cutting and/or thrusting weapon. Variants of the sword include the short sword, the long sword, the broad sword and the two-handed sword; a hybrid of the longsword and the two-handed sword is the bastard sword. The rapier and the foil are also small swords. A curved-edged sword is called a scimitar. A heavy variant of the sword developed from a large knife is the falchion.
