Pinel and Gwár Adandor
Pinel Town (S."Pinel", "Star-ridge";Q."Quínel") on the road called the Men Narda was mostly deserted in TA 1640.It was the first important village to fall to the Warlord Ardagor in T.A. 1638.Hallas o Dol Tinereb ' army, aided by a Faerdorrim contingent, retook it in late July while the Warlord mobilized his field force of wild Orcs, wolves, mannish mercenaries and slaves on Enedbund (called "Endgame Ridge" by the soldiers) just west of town. The ridge was cleared in mid-August and it became the primary Dol Tinereb supply center in the Highlands.The officers of the garrison, unfortunately, had been given the job of exorcising an evil spirit reported on the ridge.They had been holding nightly gambling sessions one week;the worst card-player in Pinel was nominated to take a squad out on the ridge after dark.
