Lanthir (S."glade-lord") was a cousin to Thranduil of Mirkwood and the King of the elven Lords of Neldoreth.He had led his people more and more into withdrawal from the rest of the world, especially after his only son Aramagor had been killed by a band of Orcs and his daughter Carangileth had been ambushed on a visit to her kin in Rhovanion.
