Cloak usually refers to types of loose garment worn over indoor clothing for protection from the cold, rain or wind.Middle-Earth Cloaks are worn by almost every culture but rarely described in detail, they might have resembled historical Toga, Chlamys, Serape or even Poncho types, though at least Elves and Dwarves seem to have worn Hooded Cloaks, maybe similar to medieval hooded cloaks.The High-Elven Cloak was also known as Karape, some Elves wore Cloaks including a veil, the Sindar knew such a piece of clothing as a Fanna.Fur-lined cloaks were also worn, especially by the more well-to-do.
