A powerful Rohirric Warrior, Brego the Old was the eldest son of Eorl and the second King of Rohan (T.A. 2545-70). His successful wars against the Men of the White Mountains and the Orcs and Balchoth in the Wold region secured Rohan's borders. Brego was born in T.A. 2512, when the Riddermark was only two years old. He built the Meduseld, but died of grief soon after its commemoration when his foolhardy son Baldor disappeared in the Paths of the Dead. His second son Aldor succeeded him to the throne.
