Boromir: "Is it not a strange fate that we should suffer so much fear and doubt for so small a thing? So small a thing!" - J. R. R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring II:10 |
Bámélidis (Éo. "Spirit of both marks") (T.A. 2860 - 2885) was known in Rohan to be one of the most skillful Shieldmaidens who became the Third Marshal of the Riddermark. A daughter of a wealthy family that lived in Snowbourn, Bámélidis married Prince Folcred, son of Folcwine.
Notes[]
Original form:Baimeldis = Bámélidis
Baimeldis seems to be a Sindarin name, Meldis means "female friend" or "bride" while bai could either mean "clad" or "outer seas", as a personal name however it makes little sense for a woman of Rohan.
