Amlasló (S. "Snake-leaf river") was a small river and township of Ethir Gwathló in Arnor (and later Cardolan). It lay in the hills west of the river Minsiril about forty-five miles north of Súthure. The town had a quite large population of 3,000 in T.A. 250. However its population declined after the mid Third Age, and the settlement was eventually abandoned by T.A. 1400.
Notes[]
- Original form: Amlolas → Amlasló (corrected Sindarin form)
- In the 2012 version of his article Population and Urbanization in Eriador, Thomas Morwinsky uses the name "Dirdabor" for this location, while he assigns "Amlolas" to a previously unnamed location on the Gwathló (published in Other Minds Magazine #13).
